Who doesn't love a great giveaway? Everyone loves a giveaway, and especially a fabric giveaway. So in honor of my blog being 5 days old, and my first blog hop party, I found some fabric to give away.
On March 17th, visit HERE to see the list of all the participating blogs. I have 3 Thimbleberries fat quarters that I will give away. Starting today and ending March 23rd, you can enter my giveaway. I am wondering what fabric manufacturer is your favorite. I personally love Hoffman. Do you have a preference or do you just buy what looks good to you? Comment about your favorite between now and March 23rd, and you are entered. If you do not have a blog id, please add contact information so i can contact you if you win. This is a very "young" blog so I am not expecting a lot of entries, so please enter :P
As for my quilting this week. I have been waiting to send out a quilt for hand quilting. They contacted me this week and they are going to be able to do it next week!! YYIIPPIIEE!! So I got the backing pieced today and it is ready to go now. I am so excited!!
And even more exciting quilting news!! Last week I was into the local quilting shop. The Christmas Crab Quiltery has just moved and I was in checking it out. It is beautiful, and so nicely laid out. While I was there I mentioned that I am saving up for a new sewing machine. She suggested that if I wanted, I could teach a class on beginner paper piecing. I immediately said yes. I have done a lot of paper piecing, and I have taught it thru my guild many times. But the more I thought it over, another thought came into my head. Why not design a pattern?? If I designed a pattern I could sell it thru the store and teach the class to back it up. So I have been playing with that idea all week. I have drafted a couple blocks, and I think I have the one I want. I have re-sized it, re-drafted it and I am now sewing it. Let's all hope it turns out!!
cool on starting your own blog. i would like to but don't think i'd stick with it! :( my fave on fabric is what catches my eye. I do like certain lines but usually because the color or pattern has caught my eye! good luck in your new endeavor! :)
ReplyDeleteI started my blog just over 2 months ago and have over 100 followers now. Its fun never resist. I enjoy the help and love and support you get from fellow bloggers and I am happy to be the first GFC follower to your blog.

ReplyDeleteMy blog is also new. I know how it feels to wonder if anyone will ever find you. i have become your new follower. Look forward to your blogging journey. I love modern and bright fabric and don't mind who makes them! Cheers, Karen.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to blogging! I am a new follower and look forward to seeing your post and quilting!! I think after all these years of quilting with different brands a fav is MODA. But I do have several!!
ReplyDeleteMy purchases aren't faithful to a particular designer (does that make me bad?), I simply choose what speaks to me. Bright, bold prints are my favorite and I know I've chosen wisely when my mother says 'That looks just like you'. This is her code for 'That's the ugliest stuff I've ever seen'. Welcome to blogging (I'm having a blast) and have fun!!

ReplyDeleteA teaching gig! How fun! I recently started writing in a blog too- as in started yesterday :-) Yay for new bloggers! I'm a Hoffman fan as well, and it doesn't hurt my last name is also Hoffman! I stick to Hoffman fabrics for family quilts if I can for that reason. ReplyDeleteI don't have a particular line of fabric that's my fave. I buy what I like and am in the mood for. the only ones I'm not really into are Asian Inspired, they're beautiful but not my thing to work with. Not too much into neon, but it has it's place. That was a brilliant idea to make up your own pattern to teach with, it sounds like a wonderful opportunity for you. Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteHi, Janet! I am a new follower. I am an equal opportunist when it comes to fabric, I like it all. :o) But I do notice that a lot of the ones I am drawn to are Riley Blake fabrics. Love most of their stuff. Thanks for the chance to win.

ReplyDeleteI focus more on the particular fabrics rather than the manufacturer. That said, Free Spirit and Windham often have fabrics that I like.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on starting your own blog. And 141 entries to this drawing isn't too shabby! I'm a big fan of Moda fabrics but I do purchase from other manufacturers. I seldom meet a fabric I don't love. Thanks for the giveaway and I wish you lots of luck with your blog.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on everything going on in your life! I'm excited for you! I don't have a favorite manufacturer. I'm a fairly new quilter, so I'm focus on fabric no matter it's Momma! I'm always looking for guitar prints for 4 yr old son and hubby.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you're doing pretty well for your first giveaway. Those are beautiful fat quarters. I don't really have a favorite fabric company. I get all kinds of fabrics from all over.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the opportunity to teach a class! That's awesome.
