Option A:
1. Take 2 (2") x WOF "B" strip and 4 ( 1 1/4" x WOF) "C" strips from your pre cut fabric. Take one B strip and sew a C strip on each side. Make 2 of these strip sets. Press. They should measure 3 1/2".
2. Sub cut into forty 2" pieces. These are Unit A.
3. Take 2 (2" x WOF) "B" strips and 4 (2 3/4" x WOF) "C" strips from your pre cut fabric. Take one B strip and sew a C strip on each side. MAke 2 of these strip sets. Press. They should measure 6 1/2".
4. Sub cut into forty 2" pieces. These are Unit B.
5. Take out your fabric "B" 3 1/2" squares. Sew a Unit A on opposite sides. Make 20.
6. Sew a Unit B to the other 2 sides. Make 20. Should measure 6 1/2". Label Unit C. Set aside.
Mystery Quilt Choice B:
For those making
size Choice B, you will do all the sewing and follow all the directions as in
Choice A following the diagrams EXCEPT you will need to use more strips and cut more
units to make more blocks. Here are the
amounts you need to use in place of Choice A.
1&2. You will
use 3 (2” x WOF) strips of “B” and 6(1 ¼” x WOF) strips of C. You will make 3 strip sets for Unit A. Subcut your Unit A’s into 60 (2”) segments.
3&4. You will
use 3 (2” x WOF) strips of “B” and 6 (2 ¾” x WOF) strips of C. You will make 3 strips sets for Unit B.
Subcut your Unit
B’s into 60 (2”) segments.
5. You will use 30 (3
½”) “B” squares for the blocks. You will make 30 blocks that measure 6 ½”
square.
